We got up early to get ourselves packed for Malaga! Both bags could only weigh 15 kilos (33 pounds), and I was freaking out that I was not going to make the cut. Tim took us to the airport, so nice of him, and Abby and I found our way to the check in counter. Both my bags weighed 14.4 kilos! Hooray!! We got some lunch in the airport at Pret while we waited for the other girls, then we all headed to the gate to get on the plane! It was the liveliest plane I had ever been on. There was a big group of friends (Irish friends) that were in the back of the plane behind us that were crazy, but it made for a fun trip.
Quite the change from English to only Spanish, but we managed to find a couple taxis that could take us to our hostel. Abbs and I showered and decided to enjoy some well-deserved sangrias. The other girls headed to bed, exhausted from their all nighters haha.
We all got up the morning of September 11th and headed to the beach. It was awesome and I will definitely be going back while it is still hot in Spain. Got a little burned, but that’s what happens when you fall asleep under the hot sun! We got back to the hostel and took ICE COLD showers (the water was the coldest I have ever showered in and it was dreadful) then headed to our final dinner together. After dinner I got to Skype Erin and Johnnie!!:) Loved it!

On Sunday we headed to the bus station and hopped on the bus to Granada! I was so nervous to meet my host family, but they are great! Their names are Alicia (my host mom) and Jorge (my host dad). My roommate’s name is Kelsey Howard, and she is so nice!! Very happy to have lucked out with a great family and roomie! She is also dating the grandson of the infamous Central Softball fan, Leroy. Small world! We got our suitcases unpacked and then took a siesta! I met up with Abby afterwards to see how things were going in her new house. She has Internet right near her place, so I got to Skype with my mom, then we went back to the house for dinner. We had hot ham and cheese sandwiches, and they were fabulous! Alicia is a great cook! She also talks a whole lot, which I love, but I’m a little slow at understanding everything she is saying. I feel like most of the time I just nod my head and say “si”.
